Holiday gift certificates are on the way

Keep an eye on your mailbox, because your $20 gift certificate for holiday food is on the way! Holiday gift certificates are provided to employees as part of the systemwide employee appreciation program — a program designed to as a small token of appreciation that allows the organization to recognize employees for their hard work and dedication to our organization, our patients and the Nashville community. The certificate is good up to a $20 value for a turkey, ham, or assorted fresh fruits and vegetables.

VUMC Talent Acquisition Voice Of Customer survey extended to Nov. 10

Over the past few weeks, the VUMC Talent Acquisition team has been conducting an organization-wide Hiring Manager and New Hire Assessment of the Recruitment Team survey.  We are conducting this brief, four-minute survey in order to get a better understanding of your satisfaction with the recruitment process and level of customer service you receive from your recruiting partners.

Goal setting workshop Oct. 17

This month, the fiscal year 2024 performance management cycle kicks off with goal setting. Starting today, Oct. 12, all managers can begin setting goals for their staff members. The deadline to enter goals into Workday is Nov. 10. This year, we will begin utilizing Workday for our goal setting and tracking. While both employees and leaders have the ability to input goals, we are recommending that managers take the lead in creating goals for their team that align with our FY2024 Pillar Goals. 

Holiday Gift Giveaway brings back popular certificate program

After a successful first year launch, Vanderbilt University Medical Center will once again send employees a gift certificate for the Holiday Gift Giveaway. Roughly 85% of you redeemed the certificates last year, and we hope to build on that success this year.

Turn to Workday Help for all your HR inquires

Workday Help is a useful feature within Workday that provides employees a quick way to find answers to any of their HR-related questions. Workday Help also provides self-help articles related to numerous HR topics, such as parental leave, life insurance, employment verifications or FMLA. Employees are encouraged to explore these articles and get answers to many common HR questions. For questions or issues that cannot be answered via the self-service tools, employees can also create a case in Workday Help.

Registration is now open for Nursing Explorer program

Vanderbilt University Medical Center is seeking students, ages 16-20 to enroll in our Nursing Explorer program, which begins in August and runs through March 24. The Nursing Explorer program helps introduce students to career pathways in nursing through a series of monthly sessions. Participants will tour several VUMC facilities, including the School of Nursing and Skills and Simulation Lab, LifeFlight and Flight Communications and the Labor & Delivery department. Students also learn about patient privacy laws and confidentiality as well as cardiac research.
